ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Debra, the creative mind behind Old Dame Designs—where old furniture gets second chances, plain wood gets a personality, and there’s usually paint, glue, or decoupage paper somewhere it probably doesn’t belong.

I’m also a wife, a mom to one daughter who is now 39, and a very proud grandmother to two grandchildren—my 14-year-old grandson and 12-year-old granddaughter. Family means everything to me and is a big part of the life I’ve built around creativity.

What started with furniture makeovers has grown into original decoupage papers, craft kits, handmade décor, YouTube tutorials, and Old Dame Designs Magazine. I love sharing the process, not just the finished project, so my YouTube channel is where I show how I bring many of these ideas to life step by step.

I’m drawn to anything vintage, Western, whimsical, moody, rustic, or just a little unexpected. Sometimes I’m rescuing an old piece of furniture, sometimes I’m designing a new paper, and sometimes I’m making a giant mess on my worktable in the name of creativity.

At Old Dame Designs, the goal is simple: make beautiful things, share what I’ve learned, try new ideas, and never underestimate what a little paint and imagination can do.
